The NI Federation of clubs held its 2008 annual dinner dance in
the Kings Hall on the 5th April.
Following the success of last year's 25th Anniversary event,
Amber Castle were again priviledged to be charged with supplying
the evenings entertainment.
It was thought appropriate to have a household name to mark
the return to the Member's Rooms and Hugo, who enjoys immense
popularity through his BBC programme and live shows was able to
accommodate us between shows which includes one at the Grand Opera
House, Belfast, that particular weekend.
One thing is certain, he is the hardest working entertainer
you are likely to see and one who can entertain an audience of any
age. With a full dance band which plays a range of music to suit
all tastes we had yet another excellent evening in the
company of club delegates, members and trade guests.
It has also become a tradition to feature a local comedian.
This year, back by popular demand, Gene Fitzpatrick made
return visit.

entertainment for the North West 200 Hospitality
Marquee on the 9th May 2007.
'The Elvis Spectacular' provided a great evening of
entertainment on Wednesday 9th May and was held in
support of the North West 200 official charity -
Macmillan Cancer Support.

Children's Cancer Charity Shine A Light |
 |
 |
Those familiar with Amber Castle will perhaps by now
be aware that we have a little soft spot for local charity
Shine A Light (helping children with cancer in Northern
Ireland). Each year we help Shine A Light with the
entertainment for the biggest night on their calendar -
the Shine A Light Candle Night. Recently this took place
at the Bar Buddha at Belfast Odyssey Complex (Arena). The
evenings entertainment began with great swing music
performed by popular artiste James Huish followed by our
very own band This Way Up. Also in attendance were local
N. Ireland television and radio personalities Linda
Bryans, Mike Nesbitt and Robin Elliot who all helped with
the evenings presentations etc. A wonderful night was had
by all.
Also, the song 'One day at a time' written and
performed by Amber Castle's Colin Beckinsale for Shine A
Light was re-released. The proceeds from the sale of this
CD went to Shine A Light. Thanks to all who purchased a
CD. |

Amber Castle were selected to provide the quality
entertainment at the 2007 Lord Mayor's Ball at Belfast
City Hall as
reported in the Sunday Life.
Glenveagh School was the chosen charity
and the ball helped to raise vital funds for the special
needs school that works lovingly and relentlessly for
pupils with severe learning difficulties.
"The Lord Mayor's Ball is renowned for its style
and sense of occasion, and this year the invited guests
were not disappointed."
"It was a rather glamorous affair with all proceeds
going to a very worthwhile cause."
As the Sunday Life headline proclaimed "Evening is
a class act for Glenveagh". |

Amber Castle Entertainment secured the services of,
amongst others, top local radio personality Hugo Duncan
for the Carnmoney Church of Ireland's 150th anniversary
celebration concert. The show was a tremendous success
and was enjoyed by all.
There were also performances from local comedian,
John Cooke, and Irish Tenor, Kenny McDowell.
The concert, whist not specifically a fundraising
event, raised over £700 for church funds, so thank you
to everyone for supporting this event. |
