Blue Jar
Blue Jar is a Belfast based ensemble. They currently go out
as a 4 piece - to include special guest Ivan Black, but they
are a flexible ensemble and are available as a 2 or 3 piece as
well.
"Blue Jar combines the panache of Grappelli with Gypsy
flamboyance, yet balances this passion with a dreamy,
atmospheric classical sound". The group has played throughout
Europe and Africa and continue to play in festivals in Cork,
Co. Dublin and Enniskillen. With 'Ducks and Geese' to
their credit, they will record their second album at Jools
Holland's studios in London in March.
The members of Blue Jar come from a mix of jazz/
classical/showband/pop and rock backgrounds. After over twenty
years each on the music circuit, they decided to try and
combine their specialities, arrange, compose and entertain.
Since their first gig - a Garden Party for H.R.H The Prince of
Wales they have specialised in corporate work - Waterstones,
Basler, Junction One, Belfast City Council, H.M. Forces, Action
Cancer, Marie Curie Cancer Foundation, Eastern Health and
Social Services Board. They are now 'doing' the live gig and
festival circuit, following the success of their album and
Rhythm in the City festival at Clarendon Dock, Belfast.
They have enjoyed working with special guests Ivan Black,
Peter Corry, Gerry Rice and The Swingin' Lovers. |

which you will, invariably, find at weddings and functions in
Northern Ireland. We receive requests to do Swing, Pop,
Rock'n'Roll, Middle Of the Road, Country And Western, Disco...
everything! All band members vocalise...the whole range from Frank
Sinatra to Van Morrison."
The Kings of Swing use no trickery. No backing tracks or
previously recorded tapes to disguise poor musicianship. This is
real music played by top musicians from Northern Ireland.
Your wedding reception or function will burst into life with

'This Way Up' - The one way to ensure success!
One of the most difficult tasks for entertainers is to cater for
the requirements of a wedding. Of course when one considers the
diverse range of people usually in attendance at such occasions, it
is understandable why this should be the case.
At the beginning of the evening proceedings are generally sedate,
however as time progresses everyone, encouraged by younger guests,
including the bride and groom get into the spirit of things to
enjoy music of all tastes.
Regrettably few bands are well enough equipped to provide this kind
of diverse entertainment which has undoubtedly created the demand
for 'This Way Up'. The accolades for this band are many, featuring
outstanding male and female vocal talent the band have enjoyed
numerous television, club and theatre appearances throughout the
land.
'This Way Up' represent the perfect package to complete plans for
what is surely the most important day of your life. This is one
aspect of your big day you will not have to worry about. The fact
that they are the most 'in demand band' for weddings and special
occasions is testament to that, being accredited with having played
at such events in venues such as Slane Castle, stately homes and
major hotels groups throughout Great Britain and Ireland.
